Twin, where have you been? The Pauldo twins are breaking new ground as they emerge as one of the most exciting duos in basketball, both on and off the court. Hailing from New Jersey, Mia and Mya Pauldo have made a significant impact nationally, ranking in the top 50 for the Class of 2025, and both have committed to continuing the Lady Vols’ legacy starting next year.
As two of the toughest guards in the country, Mia’s exceptional playmaking abilities and Mya’s mastery of commanding the floor highlight their relentless grit and determination. Together, they are making history in New Jersey basketball.

Playing together feels like having two killers on the court, because we’re both tenacious,
Mia says, underscoring the powerful synergy they share.
She’s my best friend, We do everything together and share everything. Our deep bond translates seamlessly onto the court.
Mya adds.
Winning remains a central focus for the twins. Whether it involves state championships or receiving Player of the Year accolades, they strive for excellence in every game. Although All-Star Games might separate them temporarily, their mission is clear: to honor the name on their jerseys by playing fiercely.
“We want to see each other succeed,” Mia mentions. “That’s my mindset. I’m cheering for her, even if she plays against me.”
Minutes before competing at the SLAM Summer Classic Vol. 6, the twins exchanged messages of encouragement, almost in sync, urging each other to “handle business and get the dub.”
Attending the SLAM Summer Classic was a key objective for their senior year, with aspirations of being invited to prestigious events like the McDonald’s All-American Game and Jordan Brand Classic next spring.
Their sisterhood will transition to Tennessee next season, with hopes of progressing to the WNBA afterward. Throughout our encounter with the twins, their unwavering composure, affection for one another, and dedication to supporting their family and community truly stood out.
“We must keep pushing forward,” Mya expresses. “Keep hustling because we’re on the right track. We need to continue because people are watching us and looking up to us.”
“Always hold yourself to a higher standard and remain respectful, knowing everyone is observing,” Mya emphasizes further.
With broader eyes focused on their future, how will the Pauldo twins continue to build upon their impressive legacy? Initially aspiring to play overseas, they are now setting their sights on making history as the first twins to play in the WNBA simultaneously.
“We want to grow the game in this country,” shares Mya. “Our goal is to achieve more teams, better pay, and increase visibility for women’s basketball.”
Being the first wouldn’t be a surprise for them. “That’s our life; we’re trendsetters,” Mia asserts confidently. “Our aim is to be the first to achieve this in our era.”
When reflecting on this journey and what message they’d convey to their future selves looking back at SLAM 252, Mia responds, “Always be inspired by something.” Mya adds, “Take the time to learn something new each day.”
Having your twin by your side to inspire and learn from each day is a treasure beyond compare.
