He opens up during Epic Chicago Concert!
Less than a week after his arrest for intoxicated driving, Justin Timberlake hit the stage again. Speaking to fans during his world tour, he shared a glimpse of his challenging week.
Justin Timberlake is back on tour. He just performed at Chicago’s United Center on June 21. It was only a few days after he was detained in New York for a DWI charge. Still, the 43-year-old didn’t shy away from addressing the issue. Onstage, he talked about what’s been going on lately.
We’ve been together through ups and downs and lefts and rights, and it’s been a tough week, but you’re here, and I’m here, and nothing can change this moment right now. I know I’m sometimes hard to love, but you keep loving me & I love you right back. Thank you so much.
Timberlake told the crowd (captured in a fan video shared online).
On June 17, in Sag Harbor on Long Island, authorities pulled Timberlake over. During routine traffic stop checks, police found him “intoxicated,” as noted in an official report obtained by E! News. According to the Sag Harbor Police Department, Timberlake didn’t perform well on sobriety tests and mentioned having “one martini.” He refused further tests, which led to his arrest.
The following morning, the singer—who has two sons [Silas(9) and Phineas(3)] with wife Jessica Biel—was released without bail. He faced arraignment for one count of driving while intoxicated.
He was at dinner with friends last night. As he left the restaurant, there was a patrol car seemingly stationed near the restaurant, He was stopped and was arrested. Nobody was hurt.
A source with knowledge of the situation spoke out when news of the arrest surfaced
Jessica Biel wasn’t with him when this happened. She’s filming The Better Sister in New York for Amazon Prime and was seen hours later on set in Manhattan.
Although Timberlake hasn’t spoken publicly about it until now, his lawyer, Edward Burke Jr., did make a statement previously. They are ready to defend against these allegations vigorously.
look forward to vigorously defending Mr. Timberlake against these allegations. I will have a lot to say at the appropriate time, but am currently awaiting full discovery from the District Attorney’s office.
